And right in the centre is the Naturchalet. From here you can discover and experience all facets of the Allgäu. Let yourself be inspired and see what is particularly popular at what time of year.
The days are getting longer, life is awakening everywhere and almost overnight colour is coming to the Allgäu. Purple and white splashes of colour appear everywhere on the alpine meadows. Crocuses cover them like a painter's colour palette. The dandelions make the meadows in the valley glow in perhaps the most intense yellow colour that nature has to offer. The trees in the orchards blossom white, as if they had been covered in snow again, and the scent of blossom attracts bees and bumblebees...
The meltwater from the mountains bubbles away in lively streams. Colourful and, above all, green, green, green sprouts everywhere. But only the contrast with the still snow-covered Allgäu Alps in the background allows us to perceive spring in all its intensity.
Starlings, swallows and other migratory birds also come to the Allgäu and with them our guests, who like you appreciate, love and enjoy the unspoilt nature here...
Countless walking and hiking trails lead you through these green oases, allowing you to discover waterfalls, circle lakes and take in the unrivalled panoramas from the heights of the Allgäu foothills.
Spring is also a particularly beautiful time of year to explore the Allgäu on the many cycle paths.
In summer, the Allgäu scores with its diversity. Sometimes it's not easy to decide... The combination of mountains, bathing lakes and excursion destinations is unique and almost overwhelming.
Now in summer, the numerous farmed alps beckon with a hearty snack as a destination - or as an intermediate stage on one of the mountain peaks.
In the vicinity of the Naturchalet Allgäu you will find a variety of mountain lifts that will make your summit experiences easier and take you to the most beautiful panoramic terraces.
Children want to be active, but they don't want it to be boring. So it's good that there are so many hiking routes in the Allgäu that offer plenty of variety:
Forest and adventure playgrounds, climbing forests, high ropes courses, summer toboggan runs, interactive themed trails and petting zoos are destinations that always motivate.
Within half an hour of the Naturchalet Allgäu there are more than 20 wonderful opportunities for swimming, sunbathing, stand-up paddling, surfing... or just lazing around.
Large bathing lakes, idyllic bathing ponds, refreshing quarry ponds and well-maintained outdoor pools - the choice is yours.
Cool off on a tour through the famous Breitachklamm gorge, to the Buchengg waterfalls or - very close to the Naturchalet Allgäu - through the Starzlachklamm gorge. The Allgäu is also an Eldorado for white water sports. Several qualified outdoor providers offer canyoning or rafting on the Iller.
Just 50 metres above the Naturchalet Allgäu is a refreshing torrent with small waterfalls. A natural play oasis at its best...
The cattle fair heralds the start of autumn in the Allgäu. A reason to celebrate for Allgäu locals and their guests.
Some say it's the best time for hiking in the Allgäu.
... that's what they call the sunny late autumn days in the Allgäu.
Skiers and snow sports strategists are in the right place in the Oberallgäu and at the Naturchalet Allgäu you live in the centre of the possibilities.
With or without snowshoes, winter hiking around the Naturchalet Allgäu is enchanting.
A brisk toboggan ride - and a snowball fight is part of it anyway...
...and then into the sauna and the wood-fired hot tub.
...the contrast between the refreshing activity in the clear winter air and the cosy snugness in the evening by the open fire.
.... because otherwise you would never discover that the Allgäu has the highest density of large leisure pools.
Within a 45-minute drive you will find 7 large leisure pools with everything you need.
Sure, you know the world-famous Neuschwanstein Castle, but do you also know the magnificent ‘High Castle’, the St Magnus Monastery and the romantic old town of Füssen?
Or did you know that Germany's oldest city is also located in the Allgäu? In Kempten you can visit the Roman Cambodunum and much more. The Alpine Museum in Kempten, the Hofmühle Museum in Immenstadt and the Alpine Town Museum in Sonthofen provide information on all facets of the history of the Allgäu.
Particularly popular with children: the hands-on mountain farming museum in nearby Diepolz near Immenstadt.
Somehow a shopping day is also part of a holiday. Whether it's close by, in Immenstadt or Sonthofen, or in Oberstdorf, Oberstaufen, Kempten or Füssen. You will discover small shops and the very special as well as large outlets or specialised shops
If you ever want to leave the nature chalet for a whole day, day trips to internationally renowned sights are tempting:
The castles of the Bavarian King Ludwig II. Neuschwanstein, Hohenschwangau and Linderhof are just an hour away. The same goes for Lake Constance and the Zugspitze.
In less than two hours you can be in Munich, Innsbruck, Lech am Arlberg or St. Gallen in Switzerland.
And there are so many things you can do directly from the Naturchalet Allgäu:
For example, hike along the torrent, up to the Höfle-Alp and try the delicious cakes there...
or to Rettenberg to the Galetschbach adventure trail, then stop off at Gasthof Engel or Café Viventus and hike back via the hamlet of Sterklis...
The Alpe Kammeregg and, further up, the Kalkhöf-Alpe are also tempting. Both are good places to stop off if you don't want to save your hunger and thirst for the Bier Alp excursion restaurant, which is located directly on the way back...
and if you're already a bit fit, you can do a proper mountain hike to the Grünten summit...
or rather to the playground in the large forest in the direction of Wertach via the Neumeyer, Metzeberg and Burgerschlägalpe...
perhaps the Falkenstein opposite would also be a good alternative and from there continue over the Rottachberg to the castle ruins and then stop off at the ‘Hirsch’ inn in Vorderburg and return via the valley floor to the Naturchalet Allgäu....
