Sustainability in the Naturchalet Allgäu.
Sustainable construction
The Allgäu natural chalet was built from silver fir logs. Other local woods were used for windows, furniture and fittings. A good 250 m³ of logs were used in total.
CO2 storage
Around 250 tonnes of CO² are thus stored in the Naturchalet Allgäu. As young trees have been planted in place of the trees used or the forest has been naturally rejuvenated, CO² is stored again. This helps to slow down climate change.
Minimised wood waste
The already small amount of wood waste generated by the round log construction method was processed into wood chips, replacing fossil fuels.
Waste avoidance and recycling
Things like waste avoidance, waste separation and recycling are a matter of course for us. We ask our guests to actively support this.
Conscious water consumption
We also rely on your cooperation when it comes to minimising water consumption. This also includes a conscious approach to laundry.
Regional food
Purchasing food that is produced as regionally as possible is also helpful for our environment and is encouraged by us.
The Naturchalet Allgäu is heated exclusively with wood. The underfloor heating and the domestic hot water are heated by a wood chip heating system.
Regional wood supply
The wood chips are produced from residual forest wood, damaged wood or waste wood, which is always available in the immediate vicinity. Currently, ash trees in particular are being used, which are dying throughout Europe due to an introduced fungus.
Importance of regionality
This makes it all the more important to pay even more attention to regionality in future.
Photovoltaic system
The electrical energy for the Naturchalet Allgäu is generated by a 15 kWp photovoltaic system on our AlpenFerienLandhaus Müller, on the western outskirts of Kranzegg.
CO2-neutral living
This means that your stay at Naturchalet Allgäu is virtually CO²-neutral.
A good feeling
A good and sustainable holiday.
